British stand out fighter Michael Bisping has been ruled out for at least six months by UFC President Dana White.
At the post UFC Fight Night press conference, White said: “Here’s the thing. I love that kid. I love Mike Bisping. He’s out six months.
"Have you seen his eye? His eye is a mess, so he’s going to be out for a while. What he believes and what the doctor believes are two different things. When he becomes a doctor then I’ll start listening to what Mike Bisping thinks about his eye.”
Bisping is inevitably disappointed about being out that long. He was forced to pull out of his fight with Mark Munoz on late notice after suffering an eye injury, which with a win could have put him right back into title contention.
'The Count' has always been the UK's premier fighter. After he won The Ultimate Fighter Season 3 as a Light Heavyweight and become one of the UFC's best 185lbers.
His most recent victory came via a technical decision win over Alan Belcher before a previous head kick KO loss to Vitor Belfort.
Bisping has gone under the knife to repair a detached retina and UFC fans now won't see him until mid 2014.
