Danish defender Daniel Agger is ready to quit Anfield if he doesn't start playing more regularly at the Merseyside club.

Summer signings Kolo Toure and £15m Mamadou Sakho have been picked often over Agger and fans have often seen them playing with Martin Skrtel in a defence with three centre-backs.

This goes along with competing with the likes of Sebastian Coates and Martin Kelly who has most recently returned from an achilles injury.

Agger saw himself lose his place after the 1-0 home defeat to Southhampton earlier in the season, and has gone unused in the Reds' 2-2 draw at Newcastle and their 4-1 win at home to West Brom.

Agger is quoted as saying in the Express: "If the manager doesn't think I’m good enough, that could make me leave Liverpool. I’m here to play football, nothing else. So if I don’t play football then I don’t want to be here any more.”

There will certainly be plenty of interest in the Denmark captain.

Barcelona have been strongly linked to Agger for the last few years, and was reportedly close to leaving for Spain this summer.

He is a ball playing centre-half, along with being strong in the tackle, and mirrors exactly what the Catalan club insist on.

However, it is likely that more than the La Liga champions who will be interested in Agger's signature if he becomes available.
