After his winner at the weekend, Fernando Torres seems to be coming into form just in time for Chelsea’s Capital One Cup clash with London rivals Arsenal tonight.
However, fearing the opposing striker in this clash comes as no surprise to Gunners fans, after years of torment from Chelsea’s previous frontman, Didier Drogba.
The Ivorian forward has notched 15 goals in 15 games against the north London outfit, with 13 of them strikes coming in a Chelsea shirt, as he made himself a himself a legend at Stamford Bridge.
The Galatasaray striker was often the difference when the two London sides met, with his pace, power and eye for goal punishing the Arsenal defence as the Gunners continued their failing pursuit for a trophy.
In fact, it has now been eight years since they added to their honours list and with the removal of Drogba from the Chelsea ranks, Arsene Wenger will be hoping to move one step closer to silverware at the Emirates tonight.
But with a £50 million price tag and massive boots to fill, a confident Fernando Torres will be doing everything in his ability to take over the reigns and become Arsenal’s newest nemesis.
