Just one Borussia Dortmund player has been named on the shortlist - Robert Lewandowski.
While he's obviously worthy of his place, it goes without saying that Dortmund deserve greater representation. We've already picked out one defensive stand-out, and we've also gone for Reus.
The Germany attacker has five goals and four assists in 10 appearances this season, he helped Dortmund to the Champions League final last season - in the process scoring 23 goals and providing nine assists in all competitions.
He bagged 14 in the league last term, and provided nine assists - only Stefan Kiessling, Frank Ribery and Thomas Muller had a direct hand in more Bundesliga goals.
Ribery is on the shortlist, so is Muller. Kiessling didn't play in the Champions League with Bayer Leverkusen. So where's Reus?
