Sir Alex Ferguson strikes 'sexy' pose in new calendar (1)

Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was famed for the ferocious hairdryer he unleashed upon his stunned charges, but the phrase takes on a wholly different meaning in a new calendar.

James Husbands' annual sporting calendar is range is back, after bringing us much hilarity last year, and Ferguson is one of several prominent figures imagined in 'sexy' (read: disturbing) circumstances.

In the 2014 edition, Ferguson, who relinquished his position at Old Trafford after leading Manchester United to glory last season, can be seen stripped to the waist while firmly in command of a hair drying tool.

While last year was dedicated to football managers, Husbands - an illustrator and storyboard artist - has increased his repertoire 12 months on, with stars of cricket, rugby and tennis also depicted in unusual situations.

Sachin Tendulkar, Andy Murray and John Smit are all portrayed to varying degrees of sexiness, but it remains in football where Husbands is able to make his subjects look the most seductive.

In one image, Arsene Wenger assumes the position of Marilyn Monroe while Arsenal legend Thierry Henry looks on and, in another, lycra-clad Barcelona captain Carles Puyol can be seen thrusting to his heart's content.

Elsewhere, UEFA president Michel Plantini does his best impersonation of Cher, while Diego Maradona lathers his car, and himself, in a particularly provocative pose.

You can buy the calendars here. £0.50 of every sale goes to the James Whale Fund for Kidney Cancer in Association with Kidney Cancer UK. A very good cause, we're sure you will agree.
