Andre Villas-Boas will discover how Tottenham's fans have reacted to his criticism when Spurs face Hull in tonight's Capital One Cup clash at White Hart Lane.

The Tottenham manager suggested the White Hart Lane faithful failed to get behind the team during Spurs' 1-0 Premier League win over Hull on Sunday.

Villas-Boas criticised the supporters over what he and the players perceived as a 'negative'
atmosphere that made Tottenham's players feel like they were the away team.

According to the Express the reaction of the Tottenham supporters seems to be a mixed one. On internet forums some supporters claim that if the team start to play more attractive football the atmosphere in the ground will improve accordingly.

Others tend to agree with the manager and have called on their fellow supporters to raise the volume in the stadium.

The manager will hope a positive result in tonight's cup clash can sway public opinion in his favour and thinks his squad's strength in depth will enable them to challenge on several fronts this season.

"We will introduce changes but the difference this season is that we have the quality available to throw in a very good team," the Tottenham manager said.

"We will definitely do lots of changes because the schedule has been quite tight. We will have played Thursday, Sunday and Wednesday.

"We want to continue to do well and we have a responsibility at home to go through.

"We have the team to do it, so naturally the changes will happen."

Erik Lamela, who has struggled to make an impact since his £30million move from Roma this summer, is expected to play.

As are Gylfi Sigurdsson and Nacer Chadli while Brad Friedel might replace Hugo Lloris in the Tottenham goal.
