AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri insists he's not afraid of losing Chelsea transfer target Mario Balotelli this summer.
The ex-Manchester City striker was linked with a shock move to Stamford Bridge this month, and his agent Mino Raiola did little to dampen speculation when he admitted it could happen.
But Allegri is confident the Italy international will stay at the San Siro despite the rumours of an imminent Chelsea bid in January.
"I'm not afraid, absolutely not, of losing Balotelli in January," Allegri was quoted as saying by A Bola.
"He is a Milan player, he's going through a less good phase but that's something that can happen."
Balotelli only joined Milan from Manchester City last January, and he made a stunning start to his second chance in Serie A.
The Milan forward bagged 12 goals in his first 13 games, but the goals have dried up this season.
The Chelsea striker target has just three league goals so far, and was back in the spotlight for off-the-field reasons recently after he was involved in a minor traffic accident.
That came shortly after he was hauled off after just 52 minutes by Allegri following a below-par performance in the 3-2 defeat to Parma.
Chelsea are thought to be on the lookout for a striker, with the January transfer window fast approaching. A separate A Bola report published earlier this week claimed Balotelli could be available in the winter window for €35m - and that the Stamford Bridge club are interested.
