Former Crystal Palace boss George Burley believes Wilfried Zaha should seal a loan move away from Old Trafford in January, reports the Daily Telegraph.
The 20-year-old winger, who signed for Manchester United in January before being loaned back to Crystal Palace, has not played a competitive game for the Red Devils since completing his £15m move to the Premier League champions.
His omission from Manchester United's first-team set up has led to reports linking Zaha with a loan move to a host of Premier League sides.
And Burley, who coached Zaha during his six month reign at Selhurst Park, believes a loan move away from Old Trafford will do wonders for the former Eagles star.
"He’s got a fantastic talent," said Burley. "He’s got his own charisma.
"He’s got this talent to take players on and this talent that when people tackle him, he bounces off them. The only other player I’ve seen that in was Maradona. ”
Burley has backed Zaha to make a similar impression during his time away from Old Trafford as Andros Townsend, who has gone from strength to strength since his loan spell at Queens Park Rangers.
“I felt Gareth Bale needed another year before he went to Tottenham but he went and the first six months, he struggled," added Burley.
"And Gareth was more advanced than Wilfried at that period. I think it would do him the world of good for him to go on loan for six months or a year and he’ll come back with more confidence, a better player.
"Look at Andros Townsend, who went to Queens Park Rangers last year and was terrific."
Zaha is expected to make his first competitive appearance for Moyes' side in Manchester United's Capital One Cup clash against Norwich City on Tuesday night.
