The France international has attracted admiring glances from a number of top European clubs, following a series of impressive performances in Ligue 1 over the past few seasons.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been credited with an interest in bringing Gonalons to the Emirates Stadium, after receiving glowing reports from Arsenal head scout Gilles Grimandi.
However, the 24-year-old snubbed the chance to move to north London during the summer, choosing instead to continue his development at Stade de Gerland.
It's not yet clear whether Arsenal are still keen on Gonalons, given that Wenger strengthened his defensive and attacking midfield department in the summer, following the additions of Mathieu Flamini and Mesut Ozil.
If they are then it's clear they'll face a fight for his signature, after De Laurentiis told La Gazzetta dello Sport that Gonalons "has the profile of a player we might like."
Gonalons has made 12 appearances and scored one goal for Lyon in 2013/14, and remains under contract with Rémi Garde's side until 2016.
