Rio Ferdinand

Football News

The Manchester United defender has had an outstanding 11 years at Old Trafford, winning six Premier League titles and a Champions League since his £30m move from Leeds United.

Ferdinand’s current deal at Old Trafford is due to expire at the end of the season and it is still not yet known if David Moyes is going to offer the 34-year-old a new deal.

The veteran defender was linked with a move to MLS side Chicago Fire in 2011 but said at the time he was focused on trying to win back his place at Manchester United.

However a move to the MLS is likely to be high on Ferdinand’s agenda if United do not opt to retain his services.
