Manchester United's official betting sponsor bwin are offering odds of former manager Sir Alex Ferguson making a shock comeback, reports the Daily Mail.
The online betting firm are quoting their customers odds of 11-2 for the 71-year old to return to the Old Trafford hot seat.
Bwin have since explained that they have put the odds on the market because Manchester United have had a 'slow start to the Premier League'.
Manchester United privately slammed their betting partner's 'inappropriate' decision to offer odds of David Moyes being replaced by Ferguson before the start of next season.
However a United spokesman said that the club did not have 'any influence' on bwin's betting market and insisted Ferguson has no intention of returning to football management.
A bwin PR spokesman added: "You never know what is going to happen in football. We have a selection of Ferguson betting opportunities following his book release."
Moyes' United, who defeated Norwich City in the Capital One Cup last night, have won their last three games to ease some of the pressure off of the former Everton boss.
