UFC 169 takes place on Super Bowl weekend and will see two title fights take place on what is typically a stacked card.

The news emerged from the UFC's official press office. Pound for pound king Jose Aldo will defend his UFC Featherweight title for a sixth time as he welcomes Ricardo Lamas into the octagon.

Aldo has not been seen since defending his title against Chang Sung Jung in August where he won by fourth round TKO despite fighting with a broken foot he suffered in round one.

Lamas is currently on a four fight winning streak including a submission victory over Cub Swanson, a decision victory against Japanese star Hatsu Hioki and a TKO win most recently over Erik Koch.

The co-main event will be headlined by a champion vs champion bout. Long time Bamtamweight king Dominick Cruz, who hasn't been seen since October 2011, will make his long awaited return. He'll meet UFC Interim Bantamweight champion Renan Barao.

Cruz's last fight was a title win over Demitrious Johnson. However an ACL injury and a long process of rehabilitation has kept him on the sidelines.

Barao has taken full advantage of the injury and has looked unstoppable inside the cage. The Brazilian beat Uriah Faber for the Interim title and has defended it twice, finishing Michael McDonald and Eddie Wineland inside the distance.

A Heavyweight bout is also set to feature on the card between former UFC Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir and K1 champion Alistair Overeem. It is very much sink or swim for the pair - as both of their recent performances have been very unsatisfactory.
