Former England captain David Beckham will launch his new book today with a digital signing session on social networking site Facebook.
The 38-year-old, who is currently in the process of arranging setting up a new Major League Soccer franchise in Miami, will use new technology to offer fans personalised autographs.
Beckham retired from football last season after a 20-year career which started at Manchester United in 1993 and saw him play for Real Madrid, AC Milan, Los Angeles Galaxy and finally Paris Saint-Germain.
His new book will provide an insight into his career, and no doubt feature his own views on the infamous squabbles with Sir Alex Ferguson, who last week criticised Beckham in his own publication.
The book signing will take place via Beckham's official Facebook page, and fans have been given the opportunity to send questions to the global icon.
These will be answered during a live Q&A session presented by Jake Humphrey.
"I always like innovative and original ideas," Beckham explained in the Telegraph. "What has been created is ambitious but should be a fantastic event.
"I love the interaction with my fans, but not only will I be able to do this in London, I will be able to sign for them in locations across the world."
