Speculation is mounting that Barcelona are preparing to move for Borussia Dortmund star Ilkay Gundogan.
Spanish newspaper AS has revealed that the Catalan's director, Andoni Zubizzareta was in Germany at the beginning of the week, though the club have denied that he was there to talk to Gundogan.
The Dortmund midfielder has been chased by the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal, and has become a key component in ever-impressive Dortmund star created by Jurgen Klopp.
But now it seems that Barcelona are set to leapfrog them to the top of the list in terms of potential suitors, with the Spanish champions reportedly being attracted by the combination of his young age and high levels of experience.
At 23 Gundogan is being eyed as a possible replacement for the ageing Xavi Hernandez, and his performances in the Champions League last season were proof enough that he can cut it at the highest level.
With Barca keen to make him the next big name midfielder to grace the Nou Camp, it probably won't be too long until a substantial bid is lodged.
