Manchester United trio in Player of the Month contention
Rooney, Januzaj and De Gea in contention for October award
Manchester United trio Adnan Januzaj, Wayne Rooney and David de Gea have been shortlisted for the club’s official Player of the Month award.
The trio have all enjoyed a fantastic October for the Red Devils, who won four and drew two of their six games in all competitions.
It’s Januzaj who has stolen the headlines, most notably after his match-winning double for David Moyes’ side against Sunderland in the Premier League. He also made his Champions League debut against Real Sociedad, and signed a new five-year contract that keeps him tied to Old Trafford until 2018.
De Gea continued his fine form for Manchester United throughout the month, producing a world class save to preserve the victory against the Black Cats. He also kept a clean sheet against Sociedad.
That leaves Rooney, the winner of the award in September and serial contender. He was instrumental in the Champions League and also helped inspire the comeback against Stoke last weekend.
Fans can vote for who they think should win the award on the official Manchester United website.
