Manchester United winger Nani has revealed the recently retired Deco was his idol when growing up.
Nani, who progressed through the ranks of Sporting Lisbon, admitted he based his game on former Porto and Chelsea midfielder Deco.
Red Devils star Nani, who played with Deco for the Portuguese national team, admitted he 'loved' the now 36-year-old.
Nani, speaking to Manchester United's official website, said on Deco: "For me, it was always Deco. At the time, I used to play in midfield so I was wearing the no.10 shirt.
"I was in his position and was trying to play the same as him. At that time, he was the best player for me, I loved him."
Meanwhile, Nani believes he is one of the most skilful players at Manchester United.
When asked who he thought the most skilful player at the Aon Training Complex was, Nani replied by saying that he's 'up there' with United's top stars.
Nani will be hoping he can worm his way back into David Moyes' starting line-up for his side's Premier League match against Fulham at the weekend.
The Portuguese international was booed by his own fans after he was substituted against Stoke City at the weekend, but has been backed by manager Moyes to bounce back from his poor display.
