Arsenal star Jack Wilshere has heaped praise upon promising midfield starlet Dan Crowley, insisting that the player has a "big future".

16-year-old Crowley has impressed in the youth setup at the Emirates Stadium, with the Daily Star claiming that he has been dubbed by some as 'the new Wilshere'.

As if such flattering words weren't enough for the England youth international, he will have been boosted even further after being the subject of such positive comments from the man himself.

Taking to his Twitter account, 21-year-old Wilshere was full of applause for the highly-regarded youngster.

"Everybody follow @danielcrowley24 trust me when I say this kid is a player! Big future....," he said on Thursday morning.

Although Crowley will have to remain grounded and continue to ply his trade in the youth side, the real Wilshere is poised to return to Premier League action this weekend as Arsene Wenger's men entertain Brendan Rodgers' in-form Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday evening.

The Gunners will be hoping to ease fans' fears that they are entering any sort of slump following recent defeats to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League and Jose Mourinho's Chelsea in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday evening.
