A furious Diego Maradona has torn into Sergio Aguero following the Manchester City striker's break-up with his daughter Giannina, according to the Metro.

Aguero, who has been in sensational form for his club this season with eight goals and four assists in the Premier League, was married to the daughter of the Argentina and Napoli legend for four years, fathering their child Benjamin.

The pair have now separated and Giannina and Benjamin now live in Madrid, away from Aguero - but that has not stopped Maradona going into a heartfelt rant on Argentine radio.

"He’s a wimp, who I don’t even want to name," Maradona raged.

"In my daughter’s next meeting with a lawyer, I want to be by her side. We’ll see who can talk."

"The next time I want to be there to see if he says anything."

Three years ago Aguero was a part of Maradona's squad in an eventful time as manager of his country. Together they made the quarter-finals of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa before being humbled 4-0 by Germany.

Maradona was last season coaching Al Wasl in the United Arab Emirates.
