Competition for places is inevitably huge at England's biggest clubs.

Young talent can now be signed for fees in excess of £10m, only to then find themselves behind a queue of players with a place in the first-team seemingly an age away.

The loan market has proved a useful tool for many players in boosting their careers -Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny spent time at Brentford, Andros Townsend was loaned to as many as nine different clubs before finally breaking into the Tottenham team this season and Nick Powell is enjoying his time with Wigan Athletic.

So who else could benefit from the fresh air of new surroundings and a chance at some first-team football?
