Manchester United manager David Moyes is ready to show the door to struggling stars Ashley Young, Nani, Anderson and Rafael. Moyes is looking to overhaul his squad at Old Trafford in January and sees the quartet as surplus to requirements.

Olivier Giroud has put his fine start to the season down to an increase in confidence, insisting he always had the ability to score goals. Arsene Wenger had claimed that Giroud's increasing stature was down to technical improvements, but the player himself believes confidence was the only factor.

Chelsea have signed Burkina Fasso youngster Bertrand Traore after the player enjoyed an impressive trial spell with the club during pre-season. Traore appeared in all three games of Chelsea's tour of Asia and the club have now wrapped up a four-and-a-half year deal for the 18-year-old.

Erik Lamela has reassured Tottenham fans that he will begin show his best form once he has adapted to life in the Premier League. The 21-year-old has yet to start a league game since his £30m move from AS Roma and Lamela admits he has so far struggled with the rigours of the English game.

Experienced goalkeeper Brad Friedel has warned Manuel Pellegrini against dropping Joe Hart for Saturday''s Premier League tie against Norwich. Hart has made a number of errors for Manchester City this season but Friedel believes dropping the England international could have a lasting detrimental effect.
