Tottenham outcast suffers injury setback

Tottenham forward Emmanuel Adebayor has suffered a major setback as he's been struck down with injury, reports talkSPORT

Adebayor, who looked set to return to first-team action in the Capital One Cup against Hull City last night, had previously been training with the Spurs youth team.

And, with the striker hoping for a loan move away from White Hart Lane, this latest setback will come as a major blow for the forward.

Adebayor was Andre Villas-Boas' first choice striker at times in the last campaign, however is currently behind the likes of Jermain Defoe and Roberto Soldado in the pecking order at the north London club.

On the injury picked up by Adebayor, the Spurs boss told reporters: "He suffered a setback with Michael Dawson from a challenge in training. And we have to wait until he returns.

"He suffered that setback in training and that put him out for the game."

The forward will be hoping to make a swift return to action and may well continue to look for a loan move should he not get back in the Spurs side.
