Premier League: Who has the strongest second-string XI? (1)

Published 7 Comments

There was something quite startling about Chelsea's Capital One Cup win over Arsenal this week.

No, it wasn't Willian's hair or Mesut Ozil's eyes, although they are pretty startling. Like searchlights wandering off into the night sky...

What was pretty noticeable was that Chelsea made no less than ten changes, yet still strolled to a win against a pretty strong Arsenal team who currently sit top of the Premier League.

With the games coming thick and fast on all fronts, football is no longer about who has the best first XI, but who has the squad to survive the gruelling fixture list.

Chelsea are obviously capable of doing just that as they have show in European competitions in recent years, but can anyone else match their strength in depth?

GMS is on hand to delve into the subject by bringing you the strongest second-string XI the big boys can field.

Soon we'll know who has the resources to thrive and who will sink like a stone.....
