Newcastle United host Chelsea in a Premier League clash this weekend, and both sides will be looking to claim maximum points.
The Toon come into the clash off the back of a 2-0 defeat in the League Cup, but Alan Pardew will have seen positives in the loss and will continue with Tim Krul in goal.
Jose Mourinho’s side enjoyed a fine derby victory in the last 16 of the same competition, but will welcome Petr Cech back into the side to replace veteran Mark Schwarzer.
At the heart of the defence, both sides have options, with Mapu Yanga Mbiwa set to join Mike Williamson for the hosts in the absence of Steven Taylor and Fabricio Coloccini. Mathieu Debuchy and Davide Santon are likely to complete their back four.
Gary Cahill is likely to get the nod ahead of David Luiz alongside John Terry for the visitors, with Branislav Ivanovic and Ashley Cole on the flanks.
Chelsea have utilised a 4-2-3-1 formation for much of the season, and that means Ramires and Frank Lampard are likely to start in the holding defensive midfielder positions.
The Magpies utilise a similar system that can fluctuate into a 4-5-1 or 4-3-3 formation, but it generally means that Cheikh Tiote and Yohan Cabaye play in holding positions, with Moussa Sissoko given more licence in-front.
Mourinho has rotated his further forward three in the past, but a pattern seems to be emerging over which players get the nod on a more regular basis. Eden Hazard and Oscar are the likely starters, with Andre Schurrle the other name on the team sheet.
Newcastle United have options in their three attacking positions, and Hatem Ben Arfa will get the nod out wide from Pardew. Loic Remy could play on the opposite flank, with Papiss Demba Cisse the gamble selection to score the goals.
Up-front for Chelsea, it seems almost impossible to drop the back-in-form Fernando Torres. But, if anyone was going to do it, it would be Mourinho.
