Manchester United manager David Moyes has revealed Danny Welbeck will miss the Red Devils' clash against Fulham on Saturday.
Moyes confirmed that Welbeck - who sat out Manchester United's games against Real Sociedad, Stoke and Norwich - is suffering with a persistent knee injury.
The 22-year-old will not travel to Craven Cottage because he has fluid in his knee.
However Moyes did have some good news to report as Manchester United trio Robin van Persie, Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand are all in contention for the Premier League champions' clash against Fulham.
Van Persie was rested for Manchester United's Capital One Cup midweek clash against Norwich City, as he has been struggling with a number of niggling injuries.
Ferdinand and Vidic, on the other hand, managed to play the full 90 minutes against Chris Hughton's side as they have now recovered from groin and calf injuries respectively.
Moyes, speaking to reporters, said on Manchester United's triple fitness boost:
“I think both (Vidic and Ferdinand) are very close to full fitness.
"They showed that in midweek when playing Premier League opposition. They both played for 90 minutes so I can't see any reason why they wouldn't be ready to be selected or involved.
"Van Persie has been fine. He's trained well and worked quite well this week so hopefully he will be okay.
"Welbeck has trained for a few days this week so he's certainly getting much closer to match fitness but won't travel to Fulham this weekend.”
