Joe Hart dropped by Manchester City boss for Norwich game

Joe Hart will be dropped for Manchester City's Premier League game against Norwich this weekend, according to various reports.

The England goalkeeper has come in for criticism for his recent performances, and was involved in a catastrophic mix-up with Matija Nastasic that allowed Fernando Torres to seal a late 2-1 win for Chelsea last weekend.

According to the Telegraph, Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has told Hart he won't be involved against Norwich this weekend, with Costel Pantilimon stepping into his place.

Speaking ahead of his side's game at the Etihad Stadium today, Pellegrini refused to confirm or deny whether he had decided to leave Hart out.

He said: "Tomorrow you will know. It is a decision I have to take every week with the 22 players."

Pantilimon impressed for Manchester City's 2-0 win against Newcastle in the Capital One Cup in mid-week.

Asked afterwards whether Hart would be disappointed to have missed the Newcastle game, Pellegrini said: You must ask Joe, I can't answer for him how disappointed. All of you saw what happened [against Chelsea]."

Asked if he had to tread carefully with Hart because of his fragile confidence, the Chilean said: "I am very careful with all the players, not only Joe."
