AS Monaco's vice-president remains adamant that star striker Radamel Falcao will not be sold in the January transfer window.

There has been continued speculation surrounding the Colombian centre-forward since his move to Monaco in the summer, but Vadim Vasilyev insists he is staying at the club.

Speaking to Marca, he said: "Falcao has signed a contract for five years and, if I must say 100 times I tell you, there is no clause that makes possible his departure.

"We made a great effort to get him and it did not make sense to leave it this winter, summer or at any time whatsoever."

Falcao hit 28 La Liga goals last season with Atletico Madrid before Monaco swooped in for the 27-year-old. He has eight goals in Ligue 1 so far this season, sitting top of the goalscoring charts.

He was also recently nominated for the Ballon d'Or shortlist, as he prepares for an away trip to Lillie this weekend, with Monaco sitting second in the table on goal difference currently, behind Paris Saint-Germain.
