Juan Mata

The transfer saga involving Spaniard Mata was one of the summer's more tiresome and wholly tedious affairs.

Despite proving his worth as Chelsea's star player in recent seasons, he has been demoted under Mourinho and is unable to secure a starting berth in his favoured 'No.10' role.

While it was Manchester United who were linked with the diminutive playmaker during much of August, French giants Paris Saint-Germain are the latest club believed to be keen to acquire his services.

Will he move?

No, I don't think he will. Despite his lack of regular action this season, Mata has always presented the image of a thoroughly pleasant and hardworking individual whose character is not to react to such a situation with anger and bitterness but with an admirable resolve.

He remains a vital part of Chelsea's future and Mourinho would be utterly foolish to let him leave.
