Manchester United are leading the race to sign highly-rated Lech Poznan midfielder Karol Linetty, reports the Sunday Mirror.
The 18-year-old Polish starlet has been earning rave reviews in his homeland, and has already drawn comparisons to Real Madrid schemer Luka Modric.
Red Devils boss David Moyes is ready to meet Linetty's £4million valuation, as he bids to beat a host of interested parties to the talented teenager's signature.
No fewer than 40 scouts from various clubs around Europe - including Manchester United - were present for Lech Poznan's 1-1 home draw with Legia Warszawa last weekend.
However, they were ultimately left frustrated, as Linetty featured as a late second-half substitute, in the Ekstraklasa clash at Stadion Miejski.
A move to Old Trafford is not yet a formality, but the Premier League champions will enter the bidding as soon as the transfer window reopens in January, as Moyes embarks on a rebuilding process, following the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson in the summer.
