Top five: Dutch goalscorers in the Premier League (1)

Published 3 Comments

Manchester United striker Robin van Persie became Holland's all-time leading Premier League goalscorer after netting in the champions' 3-1 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

The 30-year-old converted his sixth league goal of the season midway through the first-half, as David Moyes's side secured three more valuable points towards the defence of their title.

Antonio Valencia broke the deadlock with less than 10 minutes on the clock, tapping in from close-range, following a Wayne Rooney cut-back.

Van Persie then doubled Manchester United's lead, after latching on to a pass from Adnan Januzaj. The exciting winger had dispossessed Fulham midfielder Scott Parker, before teeing up the deadly Dutchman for his 128th goal in England's top-flight.

The former Arsenal hitman then turned provider for strike partner Rooney, who made it three goals in the space of just 13 first-half minutes for the visitors, to heap more pressure on Martin Jol's side.

Alex Kacaniklic's deflected second-half effort was nothing more than a consolation goal for the hosts, who suffered their third loss in five home games in 2013/14.
