Manchester United could attempt a sensational big money move for Porto duo Eliaquim Mangala and Nicolas Otamendi in January, with Anderson going the other way, according to French newspaper Le 10 Sport.
Reports emerged over the weekend that United and City would fight it out in the winter transfer window for the defensive pair, who could cost as much as €75million to prize away from Portugal.
And now it's being speculated in the French press that Anderson may be included in a potential deal by United that would lower the costs.
Anderson has of course been heavily linked with a return to his former club either in January or the summer, and so it makes sense that he would be part of any negotiations between Porto and United.
Competition for Mangala and Otamendi is high, with a host of clubs looking at bringing in the former and Chelsea apparently keeping an eye on the latter.
It remains to be seen how much of the mooted €75million Anderson's inclusion would knock off for United, but Moyes will most certainly be looking to get the pair for as cheap as possible.
