Denis Irwin may not have been the most glamourous player, but the former Manchester United full-back would be the first name on Sir Alex Ferguson's list of great players he's worked with.
The ex-Manchester United boss, who has been busy publicising his new autobiography over the past fortnight, recently revealed that he nicknamed Irwin "eight of out 10" because of his remarkably consistent performances.
Players like Irwin sometimes slip under the radar, but their efforts are certainly recognised and appreciated by their coaches - and their peers, too.
With that in mind, let's look at the Premier League's current "eight out of 10" players - those who always guarantee a decent performance regardless of their opponents.
This list is based on players who have been consistently impressive over the past season-and-a-half, so the likes of Aaron Ramsey and Sergio Aguero narrowly miss out.
In fact, only one striker makes the final cut - mainly because the rest have all, at some points, suffered periods of inconsistency over the past 15 months.
