Aaron Ramsey has revealed how he admires Premier League legends Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard, and harbours aims of one day emulating their success.

Ramsey has been the star man for Arsenal so far this season, scoring six goals and making four assists in the ten Premier League matches so far this season and has suprised many with his outstanding performances.

The Welshman's sixth goal came in the Gunners' impressive win over Liverpool to take them five points clear at the top of the league and it was a beauty from 20 yards struck into the top corner to make it 2-0.

Such form led reporters to liken him to such greats as Gerrard and Lampard, with the former being eclipsed by the 22-year-old in the match, and Ramsey admitted he wants to try to emulate the consistency of success reached by the England pair.

"I'm feeling a lot more confident in front of goal and that [the Liverpool goal] is up there with the best I've scored," he told Sky Sports.

"I've looked up to players like that (Lampard and Gerrard) over the last ten years or so and the amount of goals they get is quite remarkable, so that is what I am aiming to do."

Arsenal will be hoping Ramsey can stay fit and on form as they have a tough run of fixtures coming up, with a trip to Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday followed by a visit to Old Trafford for a clash with Manchester United the following Sunday, especially as Jack Wilshere has just been added to the injury list.
