BT Sport has revealed that its list of fixtures for January will include Tottenham’s trip to Old Trafford on New Year’s Day, the second Merseyside derby of the season and Manchester City’s visit to White Hart Lane.

Manchester United will hope that their New Year's Eve hangovers are not too strong as they face Spurs on the first day of 2014 with the Red Devils currently trailing the North Londoners by three points in the Premier League.

Chelsea’s must-win trips to Southampton (January 1) and Hull City (January 11) will also be featured alongside Saints’ visit to the Stadium of Light to take on relegation threatened Sunderland (January 18).

Liverpool will then face bitter rivals Everton at Anfield live on BT Sport, before the month’s finale sees Spurs host Manchester City.

“We promised BT Sport viewers top class football action and that’s exactly what we’re delivering,” said director of BT Sport Simon Green in a press release sent to GiveMeSport.

“We’re starting off the New Year in style with some fantastic top flight live fixtures that are guaranteed to warm up the fans.”

BT Sport will also play host to third and fourth round FA Cup action as part of the exclusive package of top-level football.

The telecoms company now has the rights to 38 live matches from the Premier League including 18 “top picks”, in addition to FA Cup matches for the next five seasons and Europa League matches.

Additionally the service, which has challenged Sky Sports’ domination of sports coverage, will offer top tier games from Germany, Italy, France, Brazil, Australia, the USA and the Scottish Premiership.
