Arsenal the exact opposite to Real Madrid - Mesut Özil

Mezut Özil has praised the belief shown in him by his manager Arsene Wenger in complete contrast to the lack of support given to him at Real madrid by Carlo Ancelotti.

Özil completed a deadline day transfer to Arsenal for the fee of £42million and has been a sensational asset to the North Londoners.

And Özil revealed the importance of his manager's support telling TF1,

"For me, it’s very important to have the confidence of the coach. At the end of last season, I was certain I would stay at Real Madrid, but there was a moment when I didn’t feel that trust.

"At Arsenal on the other hand, I feel the exact opposite."

Mesut Özil assisted Aaron Ramsey's wonderful strike against Liverpool on Saturday, which saw Arsenal extend their lead at the top of the Premiership to five-points.

And now the German star will prepare for a trip to his homeland, to face Borussia Dortmund in a crucial game in the Champions League group stage.

The Bundesliga side won the corresponding fixture at Emirates Stadium 2-1 a couple of weeks ago, where a late Robert Lewandowski goal secured a smash-and-grab victory for Jürgen Klopp's side.

Özil was quite subdued in that game thanks to Dortmund's high-tempo pressing, so he will be looking to make amends at Signal Iduna Park.
