Arsenal and Tottenham are keeping tabs on Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato after he was criticised by his Corinthians manager, reports The Daily Star.

The Brazilian international, who has come under increasing pressure at the club, was offered the chance to join Tottenham in the summer and could still make the move to the club in January.

However Spurs' north London rivals Arsenal also appear to be interested in the star and could go head-to-head with Andre Villas-Boas' side for the striker's signature.

And now Pato has been criticised by his manager, he could be set for a move back to Europe in January.

Adenor Leonardo Bacchi, the Corinthians boss told reporters: "He has to have maturity, see his errors, knows what I and the technical staff want.

"Pato needs that maturity to see his faults, to absorb, and not respond to criticism.”

Both Tottenham and Arsenal are looking to add to their strike force with Roberto Soldado struggling to settle at Spurs and the Gunners light in attack.

Arsene Wenger will be hoping to give extra competition for Olivier Giroud as the Emirates outfit go in search of the Premier League title.
