Liverpool and Tottenham are set to battle for the signature of Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto, reports the Daily Star.
Roberto has struggled to make it into the Barcelona side and a move to either Premier League club could kick start his career.
The 21-year-old has made just three appearances for the Catalan club this season and 15 overall since his debut in 2010.
He has spent a lot of time playing for Barcelona 'B' where he has impressed.
Liverpool manager Brendan Rogers looks to improve his attacking options, as Victor Moses will be returning to Chelsea at the end of the season and summer signings Luis Alberto and Iago Aspas have yet to create an impact at Anfield.
It is not the first time Tottenham have chased the same playing as the Reds. Spurs beat them to the signature of Gylifi Sigurdson, Moussa Dembele, Christian Eriksen and almost stole Willian before he chose Chelsea.
Despite manager Andreas Villas-Boas bringing in Paulinho, Eriksen, Nacer Chadli and record signing Erik Lamela, the London club have struggled to create chances and scored just nine league goals in ten games.
