Arsenal and Liverpool transfer target Stephan El Shaarawy may be on the transfer list by the time the winter window opens, according to French newspaper Le 10 Sport.
The report claims AC Milan are ready to cash in on the forward and place him on the transfer list in the next few weeks, with Massimo Allegri preferring Mario Balotelli and Alessandro Matri so far this term at the San Siro.
El Shaarawy has started just one Serie A game this season and is yet to score, while Balotelli and Matri have led the line.
The report goes on to state El Shaarawy's situation depends on the future of the under-fire Milan boss, with El Shaarawy's career at the San Siro potentially salvageable should Allegri get the chop.
The Italian giants have had an awful start to the season, and currently sit 12th in the league having won just three of their first 11 matches.
Arsenal's reported interest stems from the fact that they're looking to ease the pressure on Olivier Giroud. The Frenchman has spearheaded the Gunners attack superbly this season, but Arsene Wenger has worringly few options behind his main goal threat.
Nicklas Bendtner failed to advance his case in the 2-0 Capital One Cup defeat to Chelsea, and the Gunners have been linked with a big-money move for a new forward in the January window.
Likewise Liverpool are thought to be exploring options for the winter window, with Brendan Rodgers focused on improving his attacking options.
El Shaarawy, who was at one stage the Serie A top goalscorer last term after a stunning start to the season, endured a goal drought to finish the campaign and has since been usurped in the starting eleven by Balotelli.
Now reportedly surplus to requirements under Allegri, he may be transfer listed as the January window approaches.
