German international Mesut Ozil believes Borussia Dortmund have what it takes to go one-step further and win the Champions League this season.

After suffering defeat to Jurgen Klopp's side at the Emirates Stadium last time out, the wide-eyed forward feels Dortmund are one of the favourites for win Europe's elite competition.

Arsene Wenger's side travel to the Westfalenstadion on Wednesday to meet last season's runner-up in Group F of the competition. Both teams are currently tied on six points along with Napoli, making Wednesday's match ever more crucial.

The former Real Madrid man told Bild: "A team that wins in London is of course one of the favourites.

"Dortmund was already a strong team in the past season and my impression is that they are better than ever."

Arsenal are currently the in-form team in the Premier League, coming off the back of a 2-0 victory over Liverpool at the weekend that leaves the side from north London five points clear at the top of the table.

And, Ozil is hopeful his side can maintain their rich vein of form and challenge for the domestic title this year as well as the European crown.

Asked if Arsenal can win the league, he replied: "Why not?

"Whoever, after ten games, is five points ahead, also has the potential to stand in front at the end of the season.

"To be honest, at Arsenal everything is fun. The coach, the players and life in London - I really feel comfortable."
