Frank Lampard believes Chelsea are almost perfect and aren't missing much from their team, however the Blues star believes the side must show more desire to win games.

Chelsea were beaten by Newcastle United this past weekend as they suffered their second league defeat of the season, however the England international believes the Blues have a great squad.

In an exclusive interview with Rob Beasley from The Sun, Lampard insisted not much was missing from the Chelsea team, as he said: "Not much. All the tools are there, it’s all about having that mindset of performing at the top level — like we did against City and Arsenal but which we didn’t at the weekend.

Lampard has called upon his teammates to show more desire in order to win games and believes the club must show the mentality of old.

Lampard continued by saying: "It really has to be that even if we are not playing technically at our best we have to have that extra desire to win games and make sure we get the right results.

"We always did in the old days and we need to get that back!"

Lampard could be in action tonight as the Blues play host to German outfit Schalke 04 in the Champions League and Jose Mourinho's side will be desperate for a response after their recent setback.

Chelsea are in need of all three points at the Bridge as they are currently level at the top of the group with the German side.
