Real Madrid and Juventus put on a fine spectacle in their Champions League encounter Tuesday night.

Spanish giants Real were looking to qualify for the knockout stages, but were thwarted by a tenacious Juventus side which looked strong throughout.

The first period saw the italian's dominate throughout, taking the lead through Arturo Vidal's penalty.

Cristiano Ronaldo levelled things up with his 21st goal in just his 16th appearance this term, and moments later provided the assist for Gareth Bale to gift Madrid the lead.

It looked at one stage as if Bale's third goal for Madrid would give the Spaniards the three points needed to qualify, but fellow Spaniard Fernando Llorente dashed those hopes with a headed equaliser.
