Luis Suarez has given the biggest indication that he plans to stay at Anfield, calling Liverpool his ‘home’ in the process.
The forward has been in scintillating form since returning from his 10-match ban, however the striker caused uproar in the summer following his attempts to leave the club.
However since his return, the controversial Uruguayan has been welcomed back with open arms by players and fans alike. Noticeably his attitude and commitment have been second to none.
Suarez told French radio station RMC: "Today I feel very supported by my teammates, and I appreciate their support.
“The support of the fans was also very important. I always could walk on the street with no trouble. I was never threatened or anything like that – the people told me to stay.
“I feel part of things at Liverpool. It is my home. I am comfortable and happy here – I work hard for Liverpool and I will always be thankful to the club, and to my team-mates.”
Suarez’s fine form has also contributed to Liverpool’s lively start to the campaign. The Anfield club currently occupy third in the league, just five points away from league leaders Arsenal, with Suarez insisting winning the league is a possibility this year.
Suarez continued: ““The expectation is huge.
“This season we started well, with the desire and hope. We do not have to compete in the European Cup which allows us to concentrate 100 per cent on the championship.
“The Premier League is very tight this season and anything can happen against anyone.”
Suarez will be hoping to help the Merseyside outfit return to winning ways as they host Fulham at Anfield this weekend.
