Arsene Wenger truly pulled the rabbit out of the hat, when he signed Mesut Ozil. A week before the transfer window closed, no one thought something like that would happen.
People were expecting an overpriced mediocre signing, but what they got was far from it. A signing that Arsenal fans have been wanting for years, a signing that has made Arsenal sit on top of the Premier League.
This article looks at the signings Arsenal should consider to make them even better, with their financial strength they can go signing every Tom, Dick and Harry. But that is not what Arsenal need now, they need to be smart in the transfer market.
Ever since his departure to Barcelona, he has maintained that if he had to ever return to the Premier League, it would be to Arsenal only. Fabregas grew into an exceptional footballer under the tutelage of Arsene Wenger.
Arsenal now seem to have a stable midfield, with Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta, Ozil, Santi Carzola, and Aaron Ramsey hitting fine form.
If Arsenal had to buy a midfielder, Fabregas would be an apt choice. With him performing at his peak as well, European dominance would not be a distant dream for Arsenal.
Arsenal throughout the summer transfer window were trying to bring Luis Suarez from Liverpool. Since the departure of Robin van Persie, Arsenal don't have a world class striker.
Instead of searching within the Premier League, Arsenal should move on to another player from La Liga, Karim Benzema.
With Real Madrid trying to swoop in on Suarez, Arsenal should go in for the ex-Lyon striker.
With fans lauding the exceptional performances of both Marco Reus and Robert Lewandowski for Borussia Dortmund's phenomenal rise in recent years, another man that should be equally credited is Ilkay Gundogan.
He is a true work-horse, his performance at the elite level has made him one of the sought after midfielders in Europe.
With interest from all elite clubs pouring in, he could be persuaded to join Arsenal by the likes of the other German internationals in the Arsenal squad.
If Arsenal do decide to buy a new goalkeeper, Fraser Forster would be a bold choice. The young Englishman is sought out by the likes of Barcelona and Manchester City to fill in for Victor Valdes and Joe Hart, both of whom are phenomenal goalkeepers in their own right.
Forster has been in red hot form for Celtic this season, and could become the next big name in football under the right guidance, and who better than Arsene Wenger?
