Liverpool are now the latest club who are interested in Newcastle midfielder Yohan Cabaye.
Brendan Rogers clearly believes he has a hole in Liverpool's midfield, after Saturdays poor 2-0 defeat away to Arsenal.
However he is not the only one bidding for the French star.
Arsene Wenger, who had a bid declined in the summer is still keen to sign Cabaye, along with Serie A leaders AS Roma, where manager Rudi Garcia previously worked with the frenchman, making him the player he is today.
French giants PSG are also interested.
Liverpool are desperately in need of a midfielder. And Cabaye would fit right into the heart of the midfield where Liverpool need to improve drastically.
It is difficult to say whether Brendan Rogers would be able to complete the purchase, for different reasons.
Firstly, would Liverpool's owners Fenway Sports Group cough up the cash for the French international?
They have certainly gave Liverpool the funds in the summer, purchasing players like Simon Mignolet, Mamadou Sakho, Iago Aspas and Luis Alberto.
However Liverpool's strong start and justification of the Cabaye move, could be enough to persuade John Henry to give the Reds the £18M required.
The second question is whether Cabaye would want to move to Anfield? Especially with Arsenal, Roma and PSG all leading their domestic leagues.
