Tottenham ran out 2-0 winners over Moldovan side FC Sheriff in the previous match up between the two clubs in the Europa League.
Sheriff may have looked second best for most of their home tie with Spurs in the Europa League but they did threaten on the counter and will be hopeful of causing an upset at White Hart Lane on Thursday.
As disappointing as that result would have been for the club, Sheriff still retain a chance of finishing second in the group and may defend heavily to gain a point at White Hart Lane.
They possess a great attacking threat, their only problem being their lack of clinical finishing after creating the opportunities. They may have felt hard done by by the result in Moldova and alternatively could use their form as emphasis to push forward and potentially earn the three points.
Since that defeat, Veaceslav Rusnac’s side have continued to dominate their domestic league and are currently seven points clear at the top after just 14 matches. Their last two games have seen a 3-0 win over Veris before a narrow 3-2 away victory against Rapid Ghidighici. They will hope to carry this form forward into the Europa League and try to grab a goal or two against their Premier League opponents.
Brazilian Henrique Luvannor, who wears the No. 90 shirt, continues to impress, scoring three of those six goals to take his tally to 14 from just ten league matches, making him a certain man to watch for Tottenham in north London tomorrow this evening.
