Chelsea are ready to make a bid for Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala after the club admitted they may have to sell their star, reports The Metro.
The Blues were interested in signing the defender in the summer and reportedly had a bid rejected for the centre-back.
However, now with the Portuguese outfit ready to sell the star, the Stamford Bridge outfit could be prepared to step up their interest in the 22-year-old.
Mangala, who has a release clause of £50 million, however it's expected that Porto would sell the star for around £30m as they look to gain extra funds.
Porto president Pinto da Costa has now admitted the star could depart the club, as he told reporters: "I see his name linked with clubs all the time in the media.
"He has a release clause and clubs know that, but if a bid arrives that attracts us then we could sell."
However Chelsea look set to face competition for the defender as Premier League rivals Manchester United and Spanish giants Barcelona have also been credited with interest.
The Blues could make an offer as early as January for the defender.
