Brazilian forward Hulk has hinted at a possible transfer to Spurs, claiming that he'd love play under Andre Villas-Boas again.
The 27-year-old worked with Villas-Boas at FC Porto and scored 23 goals in the Portuguese division under his guidance in the 2010/11 season, when Porto won the league by 21-points.
The powerful forward told twentyfour7football in an exclusive interview: "I am really happy Villas-Boas is making a mark in England, and it would be fantastic to play under him again one day."
Hulk is currently playing his football in Russia with Zenit St Petersburg, but is full of praise for his old manager.
"I learned a lot with Andre Villas-Boas at Porto," he added.
"He is very intelligent tactically. He was almost so well informed about the opponents that we pretty much knew everything about them when we went out on to the pitch.
‘It was scary how much we knew."
With the January transfer window approaching, who knows if the Tottenham Hotspur manager will be tempted to go back for his old player, who has nine goals for Zenit this season.
The Spurs boss did add a striker to his ranks at White Hart Lane in the summer, with Roberto Soldado moving to north London from Valencia.
However, the Premier League outfit do lack depth in the position, with Jermain Defoe the only other player getting a chance and Emmanuel Adebayor out of favour under AVB.
