Sergio Aguero and Mauricio Pochettino have taken home the Barclays Premier League player and manager of the month awards for October, completing an Argentine double in the English top flight.
Aguero has enjoyed an excellent month, scoring four times in three Premier League games for Manchester City. The striker bagged a double against West Ham and added two more in the matches against Everton and Chelsea.
This is the first time Citizens striker Aguero, who is joint top-scorer together with Liverpool's Daniel Sturridge, has won the Player of the Month during his time on these shores.
Aguero's countryman, Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino, has been the pick of the bunch in the manager's category and has been recognised for leading his side to a lofty sixth place in the Premier League, just one point behind Chelsea in second.
The former Espanyol manager has masterminded October victories against Swansea and Fulham, as well as the magnificent 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Southampton have been further rewarded by the England call-ups for the trio of Jay Rodriguez, Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert for the upcoming friendlies against Chile and Germany.
It's domestic form which will be of more interest to supporters at the Etihad Stadium and St. Mary's however, with clashes against Sunderland and Hull City respectively this weekend.
