Manchester City's new striker Alvaro Negredo says that he and striking partner Sergio Aguero struck an immediate understanding.
Both players came from Spanish football, a factor that may help their partnership, and it certainly has been proved that they can unlock defences.
Negredo has taken the Premier League by storm so far this season, with Aguero also starting in fine form following a frustrating campaign previously.
The forward duo have scored 22 goals between them in all competitions, a stat better than any other in the Premier League.
When talking about their partnership, Negredo said: "It's been good from day one and with both of us speaking Spanish, we understand each other.
"He's a great player, and with great players it's easy to get along.
"From the first moment we did well together and when we play, we understand one another."
City ensured that they made it into the next round of the Champions League on Tuesday, with Negredo grabbing a hat-trick with Manchester City beating CSKA Moscow 5-2. Aguero was also on the score sheet.
Team mate Samir Nasri also has faith in the on-form duo, with the Frenchman believing they have found a perfect striking duo.
The French playmaker, who has not been short of form himself, said: "For me, Negredo and Aguero are really complete together.
"One is small, quick, has good feet, while the other is just a beast.
"He can keep the ball, score goals and in the last few games, they've banged in goals for fun."
