Manchester United v Arsenal: Six things we learned (3)

Arsenal need a striker…desperately

OK...maybe the majority of fans knew this already but last night only reaffirmed it.

Then moans and groans that rang around north London when Nicklas Bendtner came on for Santi Cazorla suggested Arsenal need a new striker. Bendtner's inability to offer anything on the pitch confirmed it.

So far, Arsenal's lack of options hasn't caused a problem, thanks largely to the goal scoring form of Olivier Giroud and Aaron Ramsey but as last night showed, those two aren't going to be at their best every game. The Gunners have no one to turn to if they aren't.

Bringing on a player of some quality in the closing stages at Old Trafford would have offered hope. Bringing on Bendtner condemned them to defeat.
