Brooklyn Beckham took a massive step towards following his father, David, in to football by playing a behind-closed-doors training match for Fulham under-15s, reports the Daily Mail.

David Beckham retired earlier this year following a glittering career that included league titles in four different countries and over 100 international caps.

His eldest son, Brooklyn, 14, is looking to follow in his father's footsteps by signing for a Premier League club and it now looks likely that that club will be Fulham.

The youngster reportedly took part in a training match against Southend at the club's training ground, which is the closest Premier League club to the family home.

Beckham Jr has impressed enough and will continue to train with the club with a view to signing a youth contract at the club.

Brooklyn was seen at Manchester United's training ground last night and reports emerged that Manchester United, Beckham Snr's former club, were keeping tabs on Brooklyn, obviously keen to continue the family legacy.

He has also spent time with other west London clubs Chelsea and Queens Park Rangers this year.
